Minimum Requirements At least 18 years of age Posses a high school diploma or equivalent Complete a thorough background investigation Pass a drug screening and hearing test Work a variety of shifts, days, hours, weekends and holidays Complete the minimum set standard of on the job training Essential Functions Answer incoming 9-1-1 and administrative calls quickly and professionally Ability to process and determine appropriate response for emergency and non-emergency calls Ability to multi-task in a high stress, high call volume Understanding of computer aided dispatch (CAD) systems, various mapping programs, state and federal computer systems and radio equipment Handle high stress situations in a calm, professional manner Occasionally deal with hysterical and uncooperative callers
